melton I do not deserve to review Diamanda Galás, she's too awesome. I found out about her in avant garde/experimental music catalogs in the early 2000's and when I listened to her I was so delighted with how unusual and crazy good her vocals, playing, overall musicianship and passion for art and vision is on a different level, I will always respect her, what an inspiration
Favorite track: Insane Asylum.

Jascha Narveson I've owned a copy of this album for years, but I bought it as a used CD and I always thought "I should send Diamanda Galas ten bucks for this, because I love it so much" - and now I can!

Even if the first track was all that was on the album it would be worth it.
Favorite track: My Love Will Never Die.

about

Diamanda Galás New York, New York

Diamanda Galás is a Greek-American avant-garde composer and performer, whose work confronts the subjects of violence and despair with political conviction and austerity. Galás rose to prominence in the ‘80s and ‘90s with the recorded trilogy, Masque of the Red Death, and the performance work Plague Mass, which addressed the AIDS crisis in a time of deafening political silence and inaction. ... more
